Trea LaRaia

Interior Designer

Trea is an NCIDQ registered Interior Designer with over 18 years of experience in both architectural and interior design for a diverse portfolio of project types.

 

Before co-founding Joy Street Design, Trea worked at CBT/ Childs Bertman + Tseckares Architects where, as part of the corporate repositioning studio, she specialized in the design of tenant fit-out and commercial interiors such as office space, lobbies, health club/spas, cafes, and public spaces.

 

At Mostue + Associates (now Davis Square Architects) Trea designed and oversaw the construction of multi-family affordable and market-rate housing projects ranging in size from 30-99 units. Her areas of expertise include:

  • Commercial Interiors and Tenant Fit-Out

  • Multi-Family Residential Design

  • Publicly Bid projects and Chapter 149

 

Trea loves city life and growing a business that serves Boston's diverse, culturally-rich, and vibrant neighborhoods. 

Sharon

Sharon Gentges

Registered Architect

Sharon is a Registered Architect with 18 years of experience designing, and administering the construction contracts for a diverse portfolio of projects. 

 

Experienced in renovation, new construction, adaptive reuse, and historic restoration, Sharon has overseen projects that range in size from a $6000 community preschool startup to a $25M renovation of 480 units of disabled and elderly housing.

 

Sharon worked as a Project Architect and Associate for Davis Square Architects.  Her areas of expertise include:

 

  • Community and Resident Participation

  • Publicly bid projects and Chapter 149

  • Sustainable and Affordable Design

  • Design for sensitive, transitional, or special needs populations

 

​Sharon lives in East Boston and enjoys gardening, hiking, reading, and solving crossword puzzles.

Bre'Anna Romulus
Bre'Anna Romulus

Designer

Bre'Anna is a designer with over 4 years of experience in architectural design. Prior to joining the Joy Street Design team, Bre'Anna worked on a wide spectrum like academic, corporate, hospitality, mixed-use, residential, and retail. Bre'Anna enjoys creating places for people to inhabit. Her areas of expertise include: 

  • Tenant Fit-Out 

  • Multi-Family Residential  

  • Mixed-Use Development  

  • Hospitality Design 

 

Bre'Anna lives in Quincy with her husband, Jean, and enjoys drawings, watercolor painting, and graphic design.

Opalia Meade
Opalia Meade

Designer

Opalia is a designer with 3 years of experience in architectural design and spatial advocacy. Before joining the Joy Street Design team, Opalia worked largely on multi-family residential housing and commercial spaces, both renovations and new construction. Her areas of expertise include: 

  • Tenant Fit-Out's 

  • Multi-family Residential Design  

  • Spatial Justice Architecture 

 

Opalia’s passions lie in curating spaces of inclusion and believes architecture can be an effective tool to create safe, inclusive and equitable communities. Opalia enjoys reading, art, travel and community dialogue.
